QuodRings

QuodRings is a practical music player application for your smart phone, you can use it to conveniently carry and listen to your music files everywhere you go! But QuodRings is more than a common music player as it allows you to use your music files as ring tones.

Other Main features :
- Currently QuodRings supports the Ogg Vorbis format for the music files
- Default music can be defined to play when someone calls.
- Allows the definition of different music’s to act as ring tones for the different people in your phone list ( ex: you can define your husband/wife’s music, your friend’s music, etc?).

- Native C++ Symbian OS application that can Installed in a small 80 K file.

QuodRings F.A.Q.

1) When a call arrives my default Ring sound plays for a second before QuodRings starts, what can I do ?

We improved the response speed of QuodRings, but in some phones it is impossible to bypass completely the phone default Ring and you will listen to it when answering a call for one or two seconds before QuodRings starts – to “solve” this problem go to profiles and select “QuodRings.mid” as you default music.

2) What about Vibration ?

Phone Vibration migth be one of the features you miss in QuodRings is the phone vibration – we have to turn it off to bypass the phone default ring. If this is important for you you can use Options - Answer Call Delay to delay the QuodRings response for some seconds and let the phone vibrate a couple of times.

3) I really don't like the Player view of QuodRings, can I change it ?

Yes, it works like a regular skin - use an explorer like application (you can find a very good one here ) to localize the .jpg file default_skin.jpg in \System\Apps\QuodRings, then edit it & change as you like ... Currently the only limitation is that you can't change the position of the default options / text, but that's something we will improve in future versions.

4) I don't undestand all the new options in the options screen ...

They are explained on the manual you can download with the application.

5) I've reported a problem, but it still happens in Beta 3 !

Sorry but we concentrate on adding new features to this version, and some other issues were left behind ... your problem will be handled soon.

Future Plans

During August 2005 ( sorry not June as initially stated...) we expect to deliver the final release of QuodRings, at this stage the application will be splited in two :

- A free version contaning basic playback & call answering funcionalities.

- A comercial version with the remaining functionalities, including support for other music formats and other extra funcionalities still to be added.
